A WEEK TO GO

Just about a week before we leave for
Iceland. We already had a crisis about Vladimir's passport. And where to stay - another crisis.
Everything resolved for now. We are going to stay at the Hotel Atlantis in Reykjavik. Still have to pin down a hotel in Paris.
Yesterday we took care of the train from Paris to Tours. Also rented the car.

I am particularly interested in the Irish course you mentioned. You said Donegal. That's where Irish is still widely spoken, right? Have you learnt Irish before?

There are three parts of Ireland where Irish is still widely spoken (in all there are about 70,000 native speakers). Donegal is one of those major dialects. I learned Irish at school (as an ILL). Ilike going to Donegal because it is so remote (only 200 miles from Dublin but about six hours by bus) and because it is so archeologically rich. Check out the links in the Ireland section of the Itinerary Sidebar. I have a link to Oideas Gael which is the Summer school that I will be attending. You might also check out the two Irish-language radio stations that you can stream:
Raidio na Gaeltachta and Raidio na Life.

thanks for sharing Mairtin, I want one day to take a similar trip with my family.

You have a nice school blog also and I can tell many hours of work documenting school events.

Gracias, Gloria
